I love a good book. Thanks to many of the books featured in the link below, parts of my soul were activated. Over the years, I've read hundreds of books, but these books have stood out, these are the books that I go back to, again and again. The topics range from; connecting with spirit, shamanism, manifesting, past lives, female empowerment, fertility, meditation, mindfulness and so much more! I always advise clients to pick a book intuitively, if you feel like a title or cover jumps out at you, don't analyze why - just select it! You never know why you might be led down the path that you have been called to. Trust your intuition and follow the breadcrumbs. In fact, my own journey began this way and since then, I have been fortunate to add books written by friends and mentors to this very list.
Many years ago, I was sitting in the passenger seat of my car in a small town on Long Island. I was waiting for my husband to come out of a coffee shop and looking out the window, daydreaming. Within eyeshot I noticed a small wooden sign hanging from a lamppost. What an odd, old-fashioned sign, I thought. I promptly googled what it was for and began to scroll around the website. Toward the bottom of the page, I came across a name and photo that jumped off the screen. Did I know her? Certainly not, yet I was drawn to read more and something inside urged me to contact her. I had never heard of "reiki" before, nevertheless did I feel compelled to book an energy work session before this point!
Soon, I was sitting in the home of Pauline (https://paulineraphaela.com). I was terrified and my heart was racing as I laid down on the table. What was she going to do to me? Could she read my mind? What the heck was I thinking coming to this stranger's home?! But a few moments into the treatment, I found myself starting to completely relax. My eyes were closed, but I began seeing shapes and colors. "Excuse me? Is this normal?" I asked, she assured me it was. I found myself recalling a traumatic childhood memory; I felt heat rushing through my body. My face twitched and I started crying. Why was I crying? "I'm sorry, I'm normally not this emotional" I said. She reassured me it was normal and part of the process. I walked out of her home that day feeling like I was 20 feet tall and 100 pounds lighter. WOW! I thought. I'm glad I went - but little did I know this day would be the catalyst and an invitation to awaken the healer within me. It soon became clear that I was meant to be doing similar work. Pauline later became my Reiki Master teacher and helped me to navigate the early days of my practice. Shortly after, I came across the work of Pat Longo, the author of; The Gift's Beneath your Anxiety. I soon discovered she lived right in my town! I was fortunate to meet her and to dive into her great wisdom and healing knowledge. Pat led me to MaryAnn DiMarco another Long Island native who wrote; Belive, Ask, Act. I took mediumship classes with MaryAnn, honing my craft and finally understanding what it meant to be a psychic medium.
Fast forward and I was well on my way. I was deep in my spiritual practice. I asked for more guidance, another breadcrumb.
One afternoon during my daily meditation, a name popped into my head - "Buona Dea" - "But who's that?" I asked. I opened my eyes and wrote it down. Moments later, a google search led me down the rabbit hole. I was soon in the Smithsonian Archives researching this ancient Roman cult dedicated to the divine feminine. I clicked and clicked and clicked and soon found the books of Karyn Crisis, author of; Italian Magic and Italy's Witches and Medicine Women. Karyn later became my teacher, connecting me with my magical Italian roots and spirit ancestors. Through Karyn, I serindipidilously found Carlotta. Carlotta is the author of; The Modern Medicine Woman and has become a soul sister and dear mentor to me. She has helped awaken my ability to connect with the Magdalene/Christ energy, recall past lives and heal others from within the quantum field. Thanks to the work I was doing with Carlotta, I was led to the large body of work by Dolores Cannon. Soon after reading many of her books, I became a certified Quantum Healing Hypnotherapist through her school.
Books can lead us to wonderful places, places truly beyond our wildest imagination, but they can also lead you closer to your souls work, your authentic self and divine purpose. When you ask your guides for guidance, they will guide you. Even if it is in a simple google or amazon search! Connect with your intuition and follow the breadcrumbs!!
